Project Description

65 days from first stitch to runway ready, no prior design experience, just passion. My design was modeled by Kaya Chamberlain, head of VIM Film team. I was inspired by “siren” designs, which are fluid, dimensional, and change color tone when under certain lighting. This was my reasoning behind layering Organza on top of silk fabric, although it had challenges, I saw my vision come to life on the runway.

Lessons Learned

Material behavior: working with different fabrics, such as Organza, presented unique challenges that greatly impacted the outcome of my piece. In addition, I had a model change three weeks before the show, new measurements had to be taken and sewn accordingly.
